One of the oldest messages in a bottle ever recovered, this document was thrown overboard in a sealed rum bottle from a ship on 14 July 1864 near Cape Horn. It was recovered three years later on 9 June 1867 by one Michael O’Donohue on the Australian coast near Portland. The bottle had travelled 15,800 kilometers.
