Maider López, Polder Cup, 2010. A one-day soccer championship organized by Spanish artist Maider López, Polder Cup took place on 4 September 2010 in the polders of Ottoland, the Netherlands. A polder is the Dutch name for a tract of low land reclaimed from a body of water and protected by dikes. The artificial, regulated channels of water that irrigate the polders intersect López’s soccer fields, resulting in a game that requires the players to invent new strategies for play.
